Human Skull decorated with silver and turquoise beads and fittings. This meditation piece is a reminder of the impermanence of life. Limited availability. Formerly they were were relatively easy to export from Nepal, as there weren’t explicit laws prohibiting export. However since Nepal has become a republic, laws have been passed that explicitly forbid export, although sometimes exceptions might be allowed in the case of a practicing Buddhist.
This is one of the VERY best Tantric Skulls that we have ever seen, and we have seen many, many of them!
This one was recently acquired from a collection. Another older piece. Unlike later pieces, this one is not weighted. It is surprisingly light.
