Human Skull decorated with silver, brass, copper, coral and turquoise beads and fittings. This meditation piece is a reminder of the impermanence of life. Limited availability. Formerly they were were relatively easy to export from Nepal, as there were no explicit laws prohibiting export. However since Nepal has become a republic, laws have been passed that explicitly forbid export, although sometimes exceptions might be allowed in the case of a practicing Buddhist. This is an unusual piece, decorated with coral across the top. I can’t say that I’ve eve seen it’s like before!
This skull includes a nicely wrought repousse stand.
