Antique Buddhist Mala with Inlaid Bone Disks and coral/turquoise set silver counters. The silver counters are inlaid on either side with coral and turquoise. The beads are probably human bone. See Human Bone Mala.
Some beads have metal inlay, others have beads, turquoise, or coral. The guru bead is composed of a Bodhi seed, with three holes and drops to a carved bone piece, with a nice patina.
This is a stellar piece with a good deal of age.
An excellent piece for both practitioners and collectors. We don’t see much of this quality these days.
